SBR LATEX for waterproof membrane

SBR (Styrene-Butadiene Rubber) latex

SBR (Styrene-Butadiene Rubber) latex waterproofing membrane is a polymer-modified cementitious coating used to create a flexible, seamless barrier against water. It is supplied as a two-component system: a liquid SBR latex polymer and a powdered mix of cement and specialized fine aggregates.

When mixed together, the components form a slurry that is easily applied by brush or trowel.

As it cures, a dual reaction occurs: the cement hydrates, providing structural strength and hardness, while the SBR latex particles coalesce, forming a continuous, rubber-like film throughout the matrix. This combination results in a highly effective membrane that is permanently bonded to the substrate.

Key properties include exceptional adhesion to concrete, masonry, and metal; high resistance to water penetration under hydrostatic pressure; and vital flexibility that allows it to bridge existing hairline cracks and accommodate minor future movement without fracturing. It is primarily used for internal tanking of basements, foundations, swimming pools, and wet room areas, providing a robust, cost-effective waterproofing solution.
