Among the many types of industrial paint products, polyurethane paint and acrylic polyurethane paint, in the details of coating properties and coating fields, how to distinguish? In fact, polyurethane paint and acrylic polyurethane paint are two product names that are very similar Industrial anti-corrosion coatings, so let's answer for everyone, what is the difference between polyurethane paint and acrylic polyurethane paint?

First, let’s talk about the similarities between the two paints
1. Decorative: Polyurethane paint and acrylic polyurethane paint have great painting effects, free color mixing, dimming, and strong decorative effects.
2. Compatibility: Polyurethane paint and acrylic polyurethane paint have the same primer and top coat matching structure. Common epoxy primers and epoxy mica intermediate paints can be matched with each other to achieve excellent adhesion.
3. Constructability: Spraying and brushing methods are available for polyurethane paint. At the same time, according to the coating routine of first mixing curing agent and thinner, the same is true for acrylic polyurethane paint.

There are so many similarities between the two paints, so what are the differences between them before? :
Weather resistance difference. Polyurethane paint has general weather resistance. When it is painted outdoors, it is prone to chalking, fading or even loss of gloss in about a year. Acrylic polyurethane paint is usually weather-resistant and will not undergo color changes such as fading for 7 to 8 years in outdoor coating applications.
Difference in composition. Polyurethane paint is composed of two parts containing hydroxyl resin and isocyanate prepolymer, which is usually interpreted as the curing agent part of polyurethane paint and the main agent part of polyurethane paint. Acrylic polyurethane paint is a two-component self-drying product consisting of a hydroxyl acrylic resin additive and a curing agent product.
Differences in coating application. Polyurethane paint is good at indoor painting, such as pipeline, iron frame, mechanical equipment anti-corrosion protection; while acrylic polyurethane paint is good at outdoor painting, such as pipeline, steel structure, machinery, building exterior wall corrosion protection.
