High Solid Styrene-Butadiene Latex is a specialized polymer emulsion produced through controlled emulsion polymerization. It is formulated to achieve solid content levels above 63 percent while maintaining low viscosity and good stability. This balance requires precise control of emulsifiers, initiators, and reaction conditions.

The resulting latex offers a small, uniform particle size distribution, providing good film-forming ability. It also exhibits high mechanical stability, allowing it to withstand shear forces during mixing and pumping operations.

Typical physical properties include a pH of 7.5 to 8.5, viscosity between 500 and 1000 mPa·s at 25°C, and outstanding resistance to coagulation. The latex remains stable even when blended with fillers, pigments, or additives commonly used in carpet backing formulations.

In application, High Solid SBR creates a tough, flexible film after drying, providing good adhesion to fibers and fillers. Its compatibility with calcium carbonate and clay enables cost-effective formulations with high solids loading.
