RF-9608A SBR Latex: Supporting Better Cement Mortar Formulations
Cement mortar is one of the most widely used materials in the construction industry. However, when manufacturers develop products for demanding applications, traditional cement formulations may need to be modified to achieve the desired balance of performance and processing properties.
This is where polymer modification becomes an important consideration.
RF-9608A SBR Latex, developed by Zhejiang Ruico Advanced Materials Co., Ltd., is designed for cement mortar modification. As a styrene-butadiene latex copolymer, RF-9608A provides good chemical stability, excellent dispersibility, and good compatibility with various cements.
Another important characteristic is its ability to increase adhesion to most substrates, making it a material worth evaluating in polymer-modified cement formulations.
According to the technical data, RF-9608A has a typical solid content of 48.0 ± 1%, a pH range of 7.0–9.0, and viscosity of ≤800 mPa·s under the specified test conditions. Both Tg and MFFT are listed at 6°C.
For formulation engineers, these parameters provide a useful starting point for laboratory evaluation.
However, choosing an SBR latex is only one part of the formulation process.
The final performance of a cement-based product depends on the complete formulation and manufacturing process. Cement type, aggregate and filler selection, additive package, water ratio, polymer dosage, mixing sequence, curing conditions, and application method can all influence the final result.
That is why we recommend application-specific laboratory testing before commercial production.
