In modern coated paper production, the coating formulation plays a decisive role in determining paper appearance, printing quality, and surface durability. A well-balanced formulation typically contains pigments, dispersants, rheology modifiers, and binders. Among these components, the binder system is particularly important because it determines the final coating strength and structural integrity.

Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) latex is widely used as a binder in paper coating formulations due to its film-forming ability and compatibility with common coating pigments. RF-9691 and RF-9692 SBR latex are designed specifically for coated paper systems, helping manufacturers achieve consistent coating performance and improved surface quality.

In a typical coating formulation, pigments such as ground calcium carbonate (GCC) and kaolin clay provide brightness and opacity, while the SBR latex acts as the adhesive phase that binds pigment particles together and anchors them to the paper surface.
