Tear resistance is an important property for many industrial and disposable nitrile gloves.
A glove may have adequate tensile strength but still show different behavior when a cut or small defect begins to propagate.
Tear performance can depend on:
Polymer characteristics
Crosslinking
Film thickness
Formulation
Curing conditions
Surface defects
This is why tensile strength alone does not provide a complete picture of glove durability.
For industrial applications, tear resistance should be considered together with abrasion, elongation, flexibility and overall coating integrity.
RUICO NBR latex can be evaluated according to the target mechanical properties of the finished glove.
