Using an acrylic for scourer can be a great alternative to glass in many applications. But it can be easily damaged if you use the wrong cleaning products. Here are some tips to keep it in good condition.
Never use solvents to clean acrylic surfaces. They can be harmful and leave irreparable haze on the surface. For most situations, you only need a cleaning solution.

For a polished finish, you should apply a commercial polishing compound. You can also use a non-silicone car polish. But you should check the results regularly. This is because you may not achieve the full strength in a few days.

A soft cloth should be used to wipe away dust and dirt. When the dirt is removed, you should polish the acrylic with a commercial polishing compound. Do not use a scouring pad, as it will scratch the surface.
A sharp utility knife can be used to scrape the corners of the plastic sheet. Make sure the edge is held in a horizontal position. Then, draw a scriber along the edge. When the scriber is held firmly, draw a line on the corner.

When the acrylic is cooled, it will become rigid. Then, you can hold it with a sharp downward pressure. You can also use the back of a hacksaw blade for this purpose.
If you are forming an acrylic joint, you should use a viscous cement. These are used when it is hard to make a strong transparent joint.
