What is water based defoamer and what is oil based defoamer

The aqueous defoamer is a modified silicon dimethicone high efficiency defoamer emulsion that can be used to eliminate foam in aqueous systems. Especially in oily systems, the dispersibility is good, and it is ideal for controlling the acid-base system at temperatures above 200 °C and 20%. It is suitable for use in oily foaming system, with good dispersibility, fast defoaming and strong antifoaming performance. Can not be used in a water-soluble system, there will be an incompatible state. The oily defoamer is specially designed for defoaming in non-aqueous systems. It is a solution carrying oily defoamer molecules dispersed in the foaming liquid. When the solvent is diffused, the oily defoaming agent condenses into droplets, thereby exerting the performance of the defoaming agent. .

Of course, the popular explanation is that the aqueous defoamer means that it is well compatible with water; the oily defoamer means that it is insoluble in water or slightly soluble in water.
