Summary:Nov 26,2020

The differences between nitrile gloves and latex gloves are the material, characteristics, and maintenance methods.

Latex gloves are made of natural latex, have acid and alkali resistance, and should not be worn for a long time.

The material of nitrile gloves is an organic compound, which has the characteristics of abrasion resistance, grease resistance, and antistatic properties.

    1. Different materials

Latex gloves, also known as rubber gloves, are made from latex formed naturally from the sap of rubber trees.

Nitrile gloves are made from banana as the main raw material, combined with two chemical components of acrylonitrile and butadiene, and belong to the category of organic compounds.

Latex gloves contain protein, which is prone to allergic reactions for people with allergies.

Nitrile gloves do not contain proteins, amino compounds and other harmful substances, and rarely cause allergies.

    2. Different characteristics

Latex gloves are slightly inferior to nitrile gloves in terms of toughness, wear resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and grease resistance, but they are better than nitrile gloves in acid and alkali resistance.

The material of nitrile gloves is relatively hard, in addition to the above characteristics, it also has anti-static properties, and long-term wear will not cause skin allergies.

Nitrile gloves contain butadiene monomer, it can become a flexible rubber, which allows the wearer to experience the best tactile sensitivity. In addition, the fit of the hand is due to its good thermal conductivity.

This property provides excellent flexibility, which is particularly important for medical professionals or those who operate small parts or tools.

In addition, nitrile gloves have certain antistatic properties because of their silicon-free composition, low surface chemical residues, low ion content, and small particle content, which are suitable for strict clean room environments.

    3. Maintenance methods

When using nitrile gloves, care should be taken to avoid sharp things, and do not pull or wear vigorously, otherwise it will easily cause damage to the gloves and shorten the life of the gloves.

Latex gloves have relatively poor air permeability and should not be worn for long periods of time. Otherwise, sweat may easily cause sweat to accumulate in the gloves.
